The Hotel
Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam is a unique sustainable 4-star hotel in Amsterdam. At the former location where ships left for Jakarta back in the days, lies a green oasis (literally) in the centre of Amsterdam. Hotel Jakarta offers 200 luxurious rooms and suites with an Indonesian influenced style. Most rooms features a balcony, with panoramic views over the IJ-river.
The hotel is located on ‘Java-eiland’. Just a 25 minutes walk from Amsterdam Central Station, but also easily reachable with public transport (tram 26 or bus 42). The perfect spot to stay if you are planning to be in the city center a lot, but don’t want all the city noises around your hotel.
Sounds good, right? But the best is yet to come. This hotel has… a… SUBTROPIC GARDEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HOTEL. Oh my! I can tell you, I was instantly in love with this place by seeing this. In the indoor garden you will find meters-high palms, banana trees, climbing plants, flowers and all kinds of other Asian flora. All rooms of the hotel are located around the garden, just like the bakery and Café Jakarta. What a way to leave your hotel room!
Facilities
Swimming pool and Wellness – This hotel has an excellent swimming pool with sun beds overlooking the IJ-river and a wellness with various massages and treatments.
Bakery/Espresso Bar – A bakery & Espresso bar is located in the hotel. This can be reached both from the hotel (through the subtropical garden!) and from outside for non-hotel guests.
Café Jakarta – Café/Restaurant that combines Western meals with Eastern spices and herbs. In addition to dinner, you can also enjoy breakfast and lunch here.
Skybar Malabar – Last but deeeefenitely not least is the hotels skybar. Here they serve the most fantastic cocktails that you can enjoy with a beautiful panoramic view over the IJ-river.
The Rooms
In Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam you will find many different types of rooms. The most luxurious options are the suites, such as the Junior Suite, or if you want to do it all right, the WOW Suite. In addition, you have the Waterfront Superior Rooms and the ‘regular’ Superior Rooms. With almost all Superior rooms you can choose between a shower, a shower and bath, a balcony or everything. Plenty of choice to find your ideal room in this hotel for your stay! The rooms on the waterside of the hotel will have sun all day on the balcony with amazing views over the IJ-river and the city.
